Pools and Splash Pads in Austin
Austin is a wonderful place to live, but it gets HOT! Here are some ways to stay cool and explore UT and Austin as it gets hotter.
Gregory Gym Aquatic Complex

- Gregory Gym Aquatic Complex is a part of RecSports.
- Membership to RecSports is not included in your ELC tuition.
- To purchase your membership, ELC students must visit the RecSports Office in Gregory Gym (GRE 2.200).

Deep Eddy Pool
- Deep Eddy Pool is an historic, man-made swimming pool and is the oldest swimming pool in Texas. In 1915, A.J. Eilers, Sr. bought the land surrounding the swimming hole and built the concrete pool. The pool gets its name from an eddy formed by a large boulder in a popular swimming area on the river. Cold springs rose from the river banks next to this popular swimming area and the water from these springs continue to fill the pool today.

- Lap Swim, 8 am – 8 pm
- Recreational Swim, 10 am – 8 pm
- Deep Eddy will be closed first Tuesday of each month for cleaning and maintenance.

- Daily entry fee for adult residents: $5
- Ticket sales for the pool are recommended to be done online by going to your preferred Google or Apple Store and downloading the app, “ATXswims”. Activate your ticket upon arriving at the pool. Tickets will be valid until the end of the day they are activated.

Barton Springs Pool
- Natural spring-fed water
- It’s COLD! 68-70 degrees Fahrenheit (20-21 degrees Celsius)
- Federally protected habitat, which is home to the Barton Springs Salamander
- Hours: Guarded Swim
- Every day except Thursday: 8 am – 10 pm
- Daily entry fee for adult residents: $5

Liz Carpenter Fountain at Butler Park
Hours:
- Open Daily 10 am – 10 pm
Just one part of the larger Butler Metro Park (formerly Town Lake Metro Park). This fountain overlooks downtown Austin, and lights up beautifully at night!
Pease Park Splash Pad
Located super close to campus, the splash pad is at the southernmost point of the newly renovated Pease Park at 1100 Kingsbury St.
Hours:
