The TOEFL is an English proficiency exam that is required when an international student is applying for UT or any other colleges around the U.S. If you are interested in taking the TOEFL exam, then please come signup starting Monday, July 1 for the Institutional TOEFL that will take place at the end of the summer semester. Watch for an email from AEP and Electives Coordinator Ellen Butki for more details.
Join us in a weekly discussion group where you get to interact with native English speakers. You will be put into groups based on your listening and speaking level. The event will help improve your conversational skills. Talk Time takes place every Monday from 3:45 – 5:00 p.m. at UNB 3.128 Sinclair Suite.
US Independence Day – UT Closed
Independence Day here in the United States is a federal holiday. It is a day which commemorates the signing of The Declaration of Independence. That document is what made the United States a free nation and separated them from the rule of Great Britain. How does this relate to you? It means UT will be closed this Thursday, July 4, to celebrate this holiday! You can celebrate it too. Fireworks are happening in Zilker Park with the Austin Symphony at 8 – 10 p.m.
Bowling at the Union Underground
This Thursday, ESL has another social event! Bring your friends and your families to fun places where you can play bowling and billiards. This Friday, July 5, we are bowling at the Union Underground. We will go there from 4 – 6 p.m. Bring your UT ID to get the student discount.
