When you’ve decided what you’ll perform, send Jack an email so that we can add you to the program and coordinate your audio and video needs.
The deadline to let Jack know if you will be performing is Monday, December 2 by 5:00 pm.
International Education Week (IEW) is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and U.S. Department of Education to promote and celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. The University of Texas at Austin participates annually in this important initiative by showcasing globally-focused events held across campus throughout the week. IEW 2024 will take place November 18-22.
UT Austin’s week-long celebration embraces our motto, What Starts Here Changes the World! Colleges, schools and organizations across campus will host events, including book talks, traditional cultural performances and art exhibits, activities for the international student community, education abroad information sessions, and dozens of other activities open to all Longhorns.

Visit Texas Global at our Open House to spin the wheel to win prizes and explore our newly renovated space, including the Global Lounge, open to all students, faculty and staff.
The Future Forum hosts a discussion on Women in Leadership, a series that has explored a variety of topics, including building diverse and inclusive teams; women in government, featuring a conversation with Madeleine Albright; the historic mobilization of women in politics; and the next generation of changemakers.
This year, the Future Forum will welcome the Ambassador of Ireland to the United States, Geraldine Byrne Nason, for a conversation to be moderated by Corrie MacLaggan, Statewide Managing Editor of The Texas Newsroom. Topics of discussion will include Ambassador Byrne Nason’s experiences as a diplomat, including chairing the UN Commission on the Status of Women and as an elected member of the UN Security Council; Ireland’s unique, enduring relationship with the United States; and the remarkable cultural changes she’s witnessed over the course of her career.

Texas Latin Dance is a student organization that teaches and promotes the love of Latin dancing at UT. This event is part of their weekly class where they teach the dance styles, salsa and bachata. The skill level for each class ranges from “I have two left feet” to experienced dancer, so there is something for everyone! Come for the opportunity to learn a new skill, level up your dancing, and mingle with a warm and welcoming community of dance lovers. Visit their Instragram for more information.
Hernan Diaz, celebrated Argentine-American writer, will read from his 2022 novel, “Trust.”
Hernan Diaz is the Pulitzer Prize-winning and New York Times bestselling author of two novels published in thirty-seven languages. He is the recipient of the John Updike award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, given to “a writer whose contributions to American literature have demonstrated consistent excellence.”
“Trust,” his second novel, received the Pulitzer Prize for fiction and was a New York Times Bestseller, the winner of the Kirkus Prize, and longlisted for the Booker Prize, among other nominations. Currently being developed as a limited series for HBO, the novel has been named one of the New York Times’ Best 100 Books of the 21st Century.
